My husband has just visited to order a takeaway, 2 dishes, the young lady was blunt, rude and unhelpful. Eventually after a long... description of the 2 dishes we had highlighted on the menu, she thrust a card reader in his face with absolutely noacknowledgement of the order or price....my husband exited the restaurant.....obviously they do not need the custom! I don?t usually write reviews, but it was such a bad experience that I?m leaving this review. DON?T ORDER from them if you have... allergies. I confirmed three times that the menu I ordered are gluten free and fried in a seperate fryer. They said yes for allthree times, but I got sick the night that I had their food and felt terrible the following day. It was very obvious that I wassick from gluten, so I called them and told them that I got sick from their food. I asked for a refund and they kept saying?It?s not about the money, you need to go see a doctor.? They just repeated ?money is not important and it is all about yourhealth? in a very aggresive tone. If they REALLY cared about my health, the very minimum thing they can do is saying sorry.There was no apologies whatsoever. I had to hang up because the conversation didn?t go anywhere and it was such a waste of mytime, and they left a message that they can give me a refund ONLY IF I bring a doctor?s note and the receipt. So in the end, itwas not because they care about my health, it was because they don?t trust that I got sick from their incompetence anddishonesty. I can?t describe how dissapointed I am. Read more
Mekong is one of my absolute favourite Chinese restaurants. The best part is? Almost everything on the menu can be gluten free!... If you have celiac or gluten intolerance, it's a great place to be. The people are always so lovely, and the food is sodelicious. I have been going here for years, and I have not once gotten sick due to cross contamination. The owners are also sonice.
