The best stay in our Canada trip, and it was all thanks to the amazing staff. The room is great, the restaurant is delicious,... but the staff are the nicest people we met here in Canada. Everyone were super helpful and truly interested and dedicatedtowards making our trip to Jasper unique. Martin, the restaurant's manager, was simply amazing. We asked him about wildlifespotting areas and he took out a map and drew the best wildlife spotting areas on it. We also asked him about the northernlights, and he told us the best night to go see them and where, gave us his tripod and we got to see it! This place is amazing,stay here to meet awesome people! We originally had planned on a 2-night stay but when the wildfires broke out in Jasper and the town lost power, we were... fortunate to switch our lodging and add two more nights here. Best decision ever! This place is well-run and has a verypersonalized feel. Unlike other corporate faceless hotels/resorts, you actually get a human that picks up the phone! Front deskstaff were super friendly and helpful. They?ll even bring you a kettle or microwave if you need one! We had a cabin-style kingroom for 2 and it was great. Room was spotless, bed and linens were comfortable, and property was very quiet. Super relaxing wayof ending each day. Would?ve been nice to have a couch or something to relax on, other than the bed or the dining table but westill loved our stay. Continental breakfast was included and had a nice selection. As others have mentioned, WiFi is quiteunreliable unless you are near the lobby/check-in desk but we used it as an opportunity to unplug and enjoy one another?scompany. ???? The restaurant had excellent quality food. We did stay for four nights and as vegetarians, we had limited optionsto choose from. Had the town of Jasper been open, we would?ve welcomed a different meal for one or more of the nights. Thefamily-run gift shop is fantastic, offering an assortment of souvenirs. Our stay at Sunwapta was not our original plan, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we ended up here for two stays on either... end of a backpacking trip in Jasper. Are we ever glad that our plans got changed, and we got to stay at Sunwapta! It iseverything a mountain lodge should be! It starts with the laid back, helpful staff, who were always willing to accommodate afew requests that came up. They create such a good vibe! The vibe continues when you go have dinner at their restaurant. Sit,and listen to the wood burning fireplace crackle while you enjoy any of the delicious items on their menu - we tried most ofwhat was on it for good measure! And lastly, the lodge rooms, or cabin room are awesome. While a touch dated, they were cleanand amazingly well kept, and sitting on the chairs on the deck staring up at the mountain vista was a pretty cool bonus. Nice hotel away from the crowds in Jasper but nearby to the Ice fields (Glacier Discovery Centre). Rooms were clean and... comfortable. Staff was helpful and attentive. Breakfast from the menu was better than their "continental" choices. We stay there3 nites. Read more

We really enjoyed our anniversary stay at Sunwapta. The staff were incredibly helpful both before our visit (sent out self... guided tour ideas) and during. We had a fantastic day out after several members of staff sign posted us to Horseshoe lake forcliff jumping and swimming. Read more
