We booked a regular room but were upgraded to a two bedroom chalet. It was wonderful. It had all amenities - including paper... towels in the kitchen area! Excellent stay, loved the chalet we stayed in and enjoyed the amazing food at the restaurant. We did not have a restaurant... reservation and had to wait a little but it was worth every minute. My wife is of German decent and she was very happy to beable to chat a little with Stefan, the German general manager who treated everybody like family. The entire staff at this placeis so welcoming and the scenery now in early fall is simply wonderful. Read more

Hospitality here is amazing! Everyone is very friendly and willing to help. My daughter had their wedding dinner/reception here... everything was delicious! Highly recommend. We stayed at the Overlander for two nights after the August Long Weekend in Cabin 10. Our room was clean minus a web in a floor... corner, had plenty of towels, a desk and two chairs, mini fridge etc. As per other reviews you can hear guests in the rooms nextto you, but that is common for many places. If you wish to avoid that spend the money on a chalet with no attachedaccommodations. Staff on the property are extremely friendly. The servers at the restaurant are very professional and servesimilar to high end dinning. The food is outstanding and if this was a review just for the chef he would get 5 stars. Drinksfrom the bar are also amazing and the wine list is extensive. The feedback for improvement is that staff should be knowledgeabout the trails. The front desk gives you a map of the trails right from the property, yet no one could tell us anything aboutthem! We asked 6 different staff members and no one had any idea of what went where or what conditions the trails were in. Thisis a pretty big fail considering why people head to the Jasper area. The other huge disappointment was the first night theywere full for dinner reservations. This left us scrambling. We had just come from Jasper and did not want to drive the 40minutes back, and Hinton was 20 minutes away. Overlander should advise all guests when booking that dinner may be full and thatreservations are strongly recommended. We’ve never been to a place where they could not accommodate all guests for dinner. Wewere not even offered room service as an option, yet the next night we heard someone order it. The person at the front deskcould have told us we had that option. I would give Overlander 2 stars because of this, but am going with an average for thepros and cons. The other interesting thing to note is we were billed wrong at a breakfast. We were given double our bill.
