Very delicious kebabs cooked to perfection! Persians and Turks have the best kebabs in the world and I believe Turkuaz is doing... a very god job in representing Turkish kebabs in Halifax. We thought we would give Turkuaz Turkish Restaurant a try as it was recommended by one of my work colleagues and saw they have... good reviews. We were in the area thought we would drop in. I do prefer to make reservations but we were out and about andwanted to try something new. They were quite accommodating even though we didn't previously make reservations. It was a verymodern style restaurant with a nice decor that has a view of the Bedford basin. I had the lamb shank on rice with salad and mywife shared a lamb Donaire plate with my daughter as she had eaten earlier and was not that hungry. The Lamb shank was deliciousand the meat was falling off the bone. I tasted the lamb donair as well which was also very good. Our waitress was nice andvery helpful. Overall I really enjoyed this restaurant and will be back to try some different menu items. My honest ratingwould be 4.7/5 but I will go with 5 stars because it was definitely not a 4 star. The reason for the 4.7 rating is because compared to other Turkish Restaurants I have been to, the variety of grilled vegetables was less. This being the first time Iwas there I found the parking lot to be a little confusing as the spots are labeled Reserved so I was looking for a parking spotnot knowing that the signs for reserved for customers of the restaurant and patrons of the plaza (usually reserved spots are forstaff). I would just recommend having better signage so new people coming in know they have a place to park. Price wise it was alittle more than other Turkish Restaurants that we frequent but still worth while checking out as their food is very good. I ordered Turkauz using Uber Eats for my first time, due to wanting to spend an evening in . The food came fairly quickly & was... still hot . I ordered the mix Kebab platter, hummus, rice pudding & chicken shish . I'm not a fan of the Coban salad so Irequested just some more rice instead , which they did for me without issue . The food here is so tasty and all is very fresh. I highly recommend the mix kabob platter to try both lamb & chicken , shish and kofte . Turkuaz is a hidden gem in Bedford . Igive 4/5 stars for prices being a little high & also my missing item from order, my rice pudding, although UBER EATS refundedmy money, the rice pudding is what I looked forward to the most . The best must try restaurant in Halifax. Their food is so fresh and tastes authentic. They start with few pieces of bread,... pickled jalapeños and some olives (complimentary). The bread was so fresh and felt like it was straight from oven. You have totry their mixed platter of appetizers where you get to try all the cold appetizers in one plate at a reasonable price. Then weorder the mixed platter for four people, it was so good and the quantity is worth for price. Their ambience next to the seaview is amazing. To try authentic turkish/ Mediterranean food with a nice view of sunset at a reasonable price. Definitely gocheck it out! Read more
