One of my favourite places to go for a late weekend night out in downtown Halifax. I like the live music and the wings are good... as well. The wing special is also worthwhile if you want a pitcher. You can add a whole pitcher for just about $3 more. Myonly complaint would be the pricing. I find most bars to be pricy, but this one seems a little more. If my memory serves mecorrectly, a plain bottle of Keith's (not draft) is about $7. In addition, they have a $3 charge for using debit. A littlesteep. Had a terrible experience. here's what happened. I called the bar to book a reservation for a bachelor party. They said no... reservations on Saturday, but if we came before 10:30PM, we should have no problem getting in. Great! When we arrived onSaturday, as half our group was already inside, the bouncer heard that we were a bachelor party and told us we weren't allowedinside because of a "specific vibe the management wants that doesn't include bachelor parties", and made us grab our friends whohad only been in the bar for a few minutes. I told him i called in advance about the party and he said he didn't care. I askedto speak to a manager, and he said "no chance. leave now". We then requested that the cover that everyone paid be returned. Herefused, and refused to get a manager for a 2nd time. Our assumption is we got played by a bouncer like a broken vendingmachine. And no, we weren't belligerent and rude. We were polite, honest, did our best to tell you in advance of our group,and you still messed it up. We went to Durty Nelly's instead. Had amazing music, lots of space, and we all agreed that welikely had a better time there than if we stayed at Alehouse. We all recommend you consider the same. Read more
