Worst Service I've ever experienced!! My small order for Dahl was placed as to go. An hour and a half later, no phone call to... pick it up!! Sitting in my car waiting for a call. The restaurant was NOT busy at all!!! I was told twice, just 10 more minutes.I finally came to my senses after I realized it was an hour and a half since placing the order!! I drove home. Then I got a callthat it was ready. The blame was put on a new hire that didn't place the order correctly. The manager was there working alongwith many other staff. If it's that difficult to punch in a to go order, then perhaps the manager should teach this concept ordo it himself!! I complained about this horrible service to the manager, who only offered a quick "I'm sorry"... Lame!! Neverever dinning in this incompetent restaurant and definitely never ordering anything to go!! The only thing that should go isincompetent lying staff. Why did the new guy keep saying 10 more minutes when he clearly knew he didn't put this orderthrough?!? I'll be getting the word out to anyone to stay clear of this place!!! Read more
Zaika has become my favourite take-out Indian restaurant over the past couple of years. Every dish is flavourful and they ask... your spice preference when ordering, and they don't mess around. I enjoy a bit of warmth, and I flip between mild and mediumdepending on my mood, and even the mild dishes aren't bland at all. If you are looking to mix it up, try some of theIndo-Chinese dishes which, as you'd expect, are an interesting blend of Indian and Chinese flavours that you won't find at yourlocal Chinese restaurants. Finally gave this place a try and can say this is definitely one of the the best Indian restaurants in Calgary! It’s a small... restaurant with only 5-6 booths but they receive lots of take out orders. We ordered the mix veg pakora, mango lassi, lamb dumbiryani, and goat vindaloo with garlic naan. We absolutely loved the biryani and vindaloo equally! The meats were so tender andthe dishes were both very delicious and had depths of flavour. We went for spicy and it definitely had a nice zing to it (nottoo spicy at all), but the medium-spice would be perfect for those who can’t tolerate heat too well. The pakora was tasty butnot what we were expecting so probably won’t order those again. Mango lassi was not overly sweet and tasted very natural, ifthat’s what you’d prefer. The garlic naan was perfectly cooked with a soft, flaky middle and crispy edges! We loved ourexperience here. Service and food was excellent and we are already looking forward to our next visit. 2nd time coming here, and the food is amazing. We had to dine in this time around, and we had the Garlic Naan, Butter Chicken,... Chilli Paneer, Dum Briyani Veggie, Chana Masala and Mix Vegetable Pakora. The Butter Chicken and Naan are one of the best wehave had and a great combo as always. Butter Chicken is full of flavour, has lots of chicken included and makes sure to elevatethe recipe compared to other restaurants. For dine-in, we wish there was a larger amount given, though. The Naan is fluffy yetcrisp around the corners, cooked perfectly, and put the perfect amount of garlic on top. Of the other items we had, the DumBriyani is probably one of the best we have had as well and is executed flawlessly like traditional biryani. Chilli Paneer wasamazing as well, not to mention there was so much given, and we were happy about that. Overall, we had a great time, and it wasan excellent meal. It is priced around the average price for an Indian restaurant. We recommend anyone else to try it out andsay that it's the best Indian restaurant in Calgary. Read more
