Ever since I moved to a Calgary I always heard about how great Saltlik was, so I was genuinely excited to dine here. You walk in... and the ambiance/atmosphere is quite charming and welcoming. The front of house staff took excellent care of us, which is to beexpected from an establishment with so much hype. We started with the Tuna Tartare which had a very underwhelming marinadeconsisting of way too much sesame seed oil. I was still hopeful that the mains would save the day, but unfortunately that wasnot the case. The missus ordered the grilled salmon and it was a little dry, the saving grace the truffle ravioli. I ordered theNew York Strip-loin, medium rare, with béarnaise sauce. I was extremely disappointed with the meal. The steak wasn?t seasonedvery well and it came out medium. The béarnaise came out really thick leading me to believe that some amateur cost cutting?chef? prepared my meal. With drinks, dessert, and tip the bill came out to $250+ and I really felt that I didn?t get my money?sworth from them. Would not return. Read more
Excellent steak! I tried their tenderloin - cooked perfectly to medium and it was very soft & tender as you slice through, like... warmed butter. The garlic topping was also very flavorful. The accompanying mashed potatoes and asparagus were also tasty butnot anything out of the ordinary. The sauce could arguably be on the slightly salty side but was nice to dip your steak orpotatoes in. Dessert was a vanilla ice cream with a crisp ?crepe/cookie with nice caramel flavor, sitting on top of a muffin.The different textures from the crispy cookie to the soft muffin were enjoyable. We had such an excellent experience here! We all ordered the steak, which was cooked correctly, and which was juicy and... tender. For appetizers we had the calamari, the tuna tartare, and the beef carpaccio, all of which were excellent and we woulddefinitely order again. We tried for dessert the lava cake, butter cake, and toffee pudding, and again they were allincredible. The best part of the night though was our server, Tara, she was hospitable, kind, fun, and has an awesome sense ofhumor. Her service tonight was the cherry on top of an epic evening. Read more
Although I consider this one of the top places for steak in Calgary, it's nice to see their other dishes are equally delicious.... Highly recommend the gnocchi and scallops. Service was excellent and atmosphere is always great. Their brussel sprouts willleave you lusting for more. Read more

Food was good, nice atmosphere. We were there to celebrate our son?s 21st birthday. We had a couple orders of calamari for an... appetizer, it was delicious.
