Really tasty place for Taiwanese and Shanghai cuisine. Large menu with something for anyone. Only complaint is the poor air... conditioning as the place was absolutely baking when we went during the recent heat wave. So, be warned if you go on a very warmday as it may be quite warm inside. We?ve been here, as well as the Robson location, a few times. The food has always been okay, so is the service. However, this... visit made me want to post a review. The two of us ordered two dishes: shredded pork with rice cakes and braised pork withbuns. The rice cakes were decent, quite standard. The braised dongpo pork was not what we had expected. We expected the pork tobe cooked long enough to partially ?melt in your mouth? and more flavourful. We were surprised to find the pork plain (or whatwe say ?white-cut? in Chinese) with the sauce on top, rather than cooked with the sauce fully absorbed. It was also far from?melting in your mouth.? We even waited 20 minutes for this dish! When we asked about it, we were told that it was supposed tobe like that. Read more
