Went for lunch - one of the worst experiences in a restaurant so had to review. Soup was tasteless and served with a cold dry... bun. Pork pie was more than double the price of buying it from the counter and served very over baked (and took ages) whenreally it should be served cold. It was rock hard and disgusting. Atmosphere is depressing - nothing on the walls or anythinginteresting to look at except the metal industrial shelves. I used to enjoy visiting here but sadly won’t be anymore. Read more
Pies - Excellent, best my husband and I have had all over the world. Scones also excellent! Whole experience excellent,... including price. Not too fancy to feel awkward but tea served in nice china cups. Just excellent British food with friendlyservice. Would recommend to anyone even just for the fabulous pies. Read more
The price of a cream tea does not reflect price in the store. We only got one scone instead of two. They did give us one to take... home. The portion of jam and clotted cream were tiny hardly enough to cover both sides of scone, the butter was hard. In all abit disappointing especially as we went there specially for a cream tea. Best sausage rolls and meat pies! My favourite is chicken and leek…hesitating to write that in case they sell out ;>
