My wife loves the buffet breakfast. Thought it was the best meal of the trip.

Awesome quality brunch buffet but it is a bit pricy ($54 for an adult). Service is fair at best where waiters were slow to... pickup plates (we had 3 stacked together before anyone picked them up), took over 10 minutes to get some hot water, and therewasn't enough cups at the juice bar. The recent renovation placed a bar right against the window blocking majority of themountain view. It also replaced the old comfy chairs with mid back chairs that are uncomfortable to sit for a long time. Both ofthese unintentionally (or perhaps intentionally) turned the best mountain view seats to be at the bar (as those are the onlyseats where someone can see through the new-small windows... And perhaps will drive more alcoholic revenue to the restaurant) and made it uncomfortable for people to stay for too long (reducing food costs if people don't stay too long). We expectedmuch more at a High End restaurant and especially at this price point. Read more

The Vermilion Room is a high end restaurant with authentic French cuisine and a wonderful addition to Banff, beautifully... situated in the "castle" . My daughter and I went as a special treat on her 16th birthday, the food was delicious and theexperience was wonderful, made even better by our attentive waiter David B.
