We were just looking for a cafe for a quick breakfast coffee and a muffin. JK Cafe overdelivered! The coffee roasts are... outstanding, the donuts to die for and our breakfast sandwich was the best in recent memory! Super soft bun, delicious omeletsstyle center and perfectly cooked bacon. We stopped in for a late lunch on our first day in Banff. The service was friendly and fast. The location is great and beautiful... inside. We ordered the half sandwich and half soup, and a full sandwich with a blueberry lemonade. The soup was tomato andlentil (GF, Vegan, DF) and absolutely delicious! Very hearty and warm- and a really great portion for a half soup. Thesandwiches are custom made with your own preferred toppings, and a really handy system to make sure you get exactly what youwant. The blueberry lemonade was also delicious and refreshing. Prices were great- especially for a cafe downtown Banff! Theyhad a selection of baked goods (breads, buns) that looked fresh and well made. We were hoping for delicious baked pastries, but this place did not deliver. This is a place where you want to stop real quick... and grab a coffee but not food. My Chai latte was decent, temperature was just right and not too sweet. My chocolate croissantwas basically a piece of bread with chocolates in the middle. It was NOT a croissant. My friend ordered cinnamon bun and it wascold and hard like a rock. They didn't even bother to heat it up for us. There were small little flies hovering over thepastries in the pastries display ???? My advice- come for the coffee but go elsewhere if you want good pastries. Read more
