Went to Frank & Gino's in Amherst with my family yesterday for a meal and was completely dissatisfied. Our server was the best... part of the entire experience, she was a sweetheart. We waited over 40 minutes for our meals. Me and my brother ordered theCarbonara, I got the large and he got the lunch menu one. The portion size of both was the same, except my plate was bigger andit was double the price. Food was also not great. Chicken tasted like a wet communion wafer, and there was an ungodly amount ofoil in my pasta. Not to mention, the bill was $75!! Very disappointed. My girlfriend and I rode around to Advocate harbour today, and stopped into Frank & Gino?s for a late lunch. The food was great... if a bit more pricey that I was happy paying a lunch meal, but the service was fantastic and I really enjoyed the Greek saladwe substituted for French fries. We shared our meals, while each of us enjoyed an Italian soda, and I agreed with Caroline thatthe donair sandwich was lovely but would have benefited from a side of donair sauce for dipping. The food was just sooo basic. The menu was amazing and everything sounded so good but the actual food was a disappointment. Also... my friends daughter ordered the Buffalo chicken strips and the waitress didn't even mention just how hot they were. We all triedthem and they were TOOO HOTTT. When we told the waitress she did offer to bring her new strips with a different saucethankfully! But the pricing and the menu set expectations that the food did not meet all around the table.
